Abstract

RESUMO: Desde 2020 o mercado de trabalho foi bastante impactado pela pandemia da COVID-19, isso por que a medida mais satisfatória para mitigação do grave problema de saúde pública requereu o distanciamento social, cuja implicação econômica mais evidente foi a paralisação de setores inteiros da economia. O estudo tem como objetivo fazer a caracterização do trabalho informal da cidade de Alexandria/RN, buscando analisá-lo no contexto da pandemia de COVID-19. Foram realizadas pesquisa bibliográfica, em órgãos públicos locais (site e Prefeitura), e de campo, com aplicação de questionário. A partir de levantamento preliminar em cadastro da Prefeitura de Alexandria/RN foi constatada a existência de 148 empreendimentos informais, sendo realizada a aplicação de 40 (quarenta) questionários. Conclui-se que a renda obtida é muito baixa (45% dos trabalhadores declararam alcançar um rendimento mensal acima de ½ até um salário mínimo), quase 50% dos pesquisados realizam jornadas de trabalho superiores a 40 horas semanais, 55% nunca atuaram no mercado formal, 77% informaram que desempenham as atividades em vias públicas, 75% indicaram que a família dispõe de outras fontes de renda, embora para 85% dos pesquisados a principal fonte seja proveniente da atividade informal. ABSTRACT: Since 2020 the labor market has been greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, because the most satisfactory measure to mitigate the serious public health problem required social distancing, the most evident economic implication of which was the shutdown of entire sectors of the economy. The study aims to characterize the informal work of the city of Alexandria/RN, seeking to analyze it in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bibliographic research was carried out in local public agencies (site and city hall) and field, with questionnaire application. The preliminary survey was included in the register of the City of Alexandria/RN, with 148 formal undertakings, and 40 (forty) questionnaires were applied. It is concluded that the income obtained is very low (45% of workers declared to achieve a monthly income above 1/2 up to a minimum wage), almost 50% of the surveys perform working hours of more than 40 hours per week, 55% never work in the formal market, 77% reported that they perform the activities on public roads, 75% indicated that the family strips other sources of income, although for 85% of the researches the main source comes from informal activity.
