RELATO SITUACIONAL DA COMUNIDADE WARAO YAKERA INE SITUATIONAL REPORT OF THE WARAO YAKERA INE COMMUNITY

Abstract

RESUMO: A comunidade indígena Warao “Yakera Ine” está situada no município de Boa Vista, Roraima. Os Warao desta comunidade já vivem neste local há aproximadamente oito anos e a vizinhança, apesar das queixas, está acostumada com a presença indígena. Um simples passeio pelo entorno da Yakera Ine é o suficiente para mostrar o quanto o alcoolismo e o tráfico de drogas afetam demasiadamente o grupo indígena. Os moradores locais, inclusive, culpam os indígenas pelo avanço da violência local, apesar de sociabilidades violentas comporem de forma banal as relações daquela região da cidade de Boa Vista. Apontamos que existe uma conformidade consolidada ali quanto à presença dos indígenas, já inseridos na paisagem humana e urbana do bairro. A comunidade indígena Warao Yakera Ine vivencia, em linhas gerais, muitos problemas de acesso aos serviços básicos de saúde, educação, saneamento, água potável e energia elétrica, entre outros. O presente relato situacional da Comunidade Warao Yakera Ine pretende possibilitar um olhar de perto e de dentro no cotidiano de vulnerabilidades sociais e interacionais dos Warao que ali residem. ABSTRACT: The Warao indigenous community “Yakera Ine” is located in the municipality of Boa Vista, Roraima. The Warao from this community have lived in this location for approximately eight years and the neighborhood, despite complaints, is accustomed to the indigenous presence. A simple walk around Yakera Ine is enough to show how much alcoholism and drug trafficking greatly affect the indigenous group. Local residents even blame the indigenous people for the increase in local violence, despite the fact that violent social interactions are a common feature of relations in that region of the city of Boa Vista. We point out that there is a consolidated conformity there regarding the presence of the indigenous people, who are already part of the human and urban landscape of the neighborhood. In general, the Warao indigenous community Yakera Ine experiences many problems with access to basic services such as health, education, sanitation, drinking water and electricity, among others. This situational report of the Warao Yakera Ine Community aims to provide a close-up and internal look at the daily social and interactional vulnerabilities of the Warao who live there.
