SAÚDE, EMOÇÕES E COMUNIDADES QUILOMBOLAS: CONEXÕES E REFLEXÕES PRIMÁRIAS HEALTH, EMOTIONS AND QUILOMBOLA COMMUNITIES: CONNECTIONS AND PRIMARY REFLECTIONS

Abstract

RESUMO: Este ensaio busca refletir, de maneira introdutória, sobre as questões relacionadas à saúde em comunidades quilombolas, com especial atenção à saúde mental e ao impacto das emoções nesse processo. A partir de uma perspectiva social e cultural, discute-se o conceito de saúde mental à luz das condições sociais e históricas vividas por essas comunidades. A saúde é entendida como um estado de bem-estar físico, mental e social, e as emoções emergem como um componente central na experiência de saúde mental. Intenta-se, igualmente, destacar a necessidade de políticas públicas mais inclusivas e focadas no contexto peculiar das comunidades quilombolas, que enfrentam dificuldades no acesso à saúde. A importância de intervenções que integrem as dimensões emocionais e culturais dessas populações é essencial para a melhoria das condições de saúde mental e o bem-estar geral das comunidades. ABSTRACT: This essay aims to reflect, in an introductory manner, on issues related to health in quilombola communities, with special attention to mental health and the impact of emotions in this process. From a social and cultural perspective, the concept of mental health is discussed in light of the social and historical conditions experienced by these communities. Health is understood as a state of physical, mental, and social well-being, with emotions emerging as a central component in the mental health experience. The essay also seeks to highlight the need for more inclusive public policies that focus on the particular context of quilombola communities, which face challenges in accessing healthcare. The importance of interventions that integrate the emotional and cultural dimensions of these populations is crucial for improving mental health conditions and the overall well-being of the communities.
