OS TABAJARA EM PIRIPIRI: EMERGÊNCIA ÉTNICA INDÍGENA ATRAVÉS DO DIÁLOGO ENTRE ANTROPOLOGIA E HISTÓRIA THE TABAJARA IN PIRIPIRI: INDIGENOUS ETHNIC EMERGENCE APPROACHED THROUGH DIALOGUE BETWEEN ANTHROPOLOGY AND HISTORY

Abstract

RESUMO: Este trabalho contempla a presença dos Tabajara na cidade de Piripiri, região noroeste do Estado do Piauí. A descrição etnográfica fornece uma interpretação para o processo de emergência étnica indígena protagonizado por núcleos familiares que vivem no contexto urbano da referida cidade. Privilegiando a relação entre Antropologia e História, apresentamos reflexões que evidenciam as narrativas de extinção e silenciamento dos indígenas e mostra como a memória social do grupo vem sendo construída no presente com a pretensão de constituir a indianidade, utilizando a evocação de relatos sobre o passado. Os dados apresentados são decorrentes de pesquisa bibliográfica que considera diversas fontes da historiografia e trabalho de campo realizados nos bairros da cidade, nos locais onde vivem os interlocutores da pesquisa. Observação, entrevistas e registro audiovisual foram os procedimentos metodológicos utilizados nesta produção. ABSTRACT: This work contemplates the presence of the Tabajara in the city of Piripiri, northwestern region of the State of Piauí. The ethnographic description provides an interpretation of the indigenous ethnic emergence process led by family groups living in the urban context of the city. Prioritizing the relationship between Anthropology and History, we present reflections that highlight the narratives of extinction and silencing of indigenous people and show how the social memory of the group has been constructed in the present with the intention of constituting Indianness, using the evocation of accounts about the past. The data presented is the result of bibliographic research that considers several historiographic sources and fieldwork carried out in the neighborhoods of the city, in the places where the interlocutors of the research live. Observation, interviews, and audiovisual recording were the methodological procedures used in this production.
