Abstract

This article looks at the role of metaphor in the development of the linguistic worldview and in the formation of certain images, which can be of individual national nature or coincide in different languages. Metaphor should be studied as a cognitive means and a culture-specific language layer that reflects the understanding of the world by speakers of different languages and representatives of various cultures.
