Abstract

The importance of academic stress should not only focus on the health problems that are generated by its presence but also the effect on the student's academic performance is of interest. Performance is usually measured based on a grade awarded by the teacher, supported by the criteria of the established class program (papers, exams, assignments, etc.). Some symptoms tend to be detected more quickly such as the failure rate and dropout, especially in those subjects that require a higher level of effort and concentration, which is since it is difficult to be in contact with all the students and thus detect if any health problem is present. For this reason, over the years, importance has been given to academic stress and research has been carried out, the results of which suggest that this phenomenon is present and affects the quality of life of students and their development. The high failure rate in integral calculus with the mentioned context gives rise to this research, which has as its object the study of stress and the academic performance of the students of the Tecnológico Nacional de México campus Ciudad Juárez, to gather and describe the nature of the relationship between said variables, considering the main stressors using the Logistic Regression model where those of greater significance are highlighted with a view to greater efficiency in performance through the systemic approach.
