The Role of Thinking and Practical Operations in Overcoming Psychological Difficulties in Solving Physics Problems

This article discusses the mechanism of the psychological difficulties of students in solving problems in physics. This phenomenon is peculiar to students` state when solving problems in other subjects of natural sciences. New concepts of “mental operations”, “practical operations” as a psychological tool of the cognitive process are introduced. A specific technique is given for compiling the “Matrix of mental and practical operations” to overcome psychological difficulties in solving problems in physics.
