Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the possible statistical differences between students belonging to three Peruvian physical education teacher training institutions regarding creative thinking. Based on the positivist paradigm and quantitative approach, a comparative descriptive study was conducted in which 98 students participated. The instrument used was the Sánchez, García and Valdéz (2009) creative thinking questionnaire; A total of 20 items and three dimensions (flexibility, originality and elaboration) are considered. From the obtained data, the inferential statistical analysis was performed; the statistical results show that there is a significant difference in the creative thinking of the students from the institution to which they belong. This leads to reflecting on the strengths and weaknesses that exist in professional training institutions and the same that would be conditioning the academic and professional development of students.
