Abstract

This article is devoted to the analysis of the concepts of ‘suffering’ and ‘war’ on the textual material of works by Nikolay Nekrasov, as well as to the determination of their significance in the conceptual worldview of the Russian language personality. The presented study examines the expression of the discursive content of these concepts in Russian and describes in detail the historical background of emergence and development, as well as the analysis of the concepts’ linguistic and factual content that characterizes the disposition of the language personality of mid-19th century native speaker in Russia (diachronic aspect). The article also contains a number of observations on literary techniques used by the poet in creating the image of war in his literary works.
